When cooking a whole chicken on the grill what is the best oil to use?

sterling_love@sbcglobal.net asked:

I’m looking for the best oil that gives the chicken that picture perfect golden brown…..or if you have another way to produce that color i’m curious to know…

Chicken has enough fat that by adding oil may cause chicken to become a flaming torch on the grill.
I would grill chicken in an upright position-they look like they are sitting on the toilet…then in the final stages of cooking, if you want that brownness…brown chicken with a glaze of soy sauce, sesame seed oil and garlic yum yum.

The burn temperature is higher than olive oil just because the burn temperature is higher than olive oil and will help prevent flare ups or veggie oil just because the burn temperature is higher.
