What Is The Best Engine Oil Manufacturer?

John S asked:

In general. I know that some specific oils are better than others from certain manufacturers. But as a whole, which engine oil manufacturer consistently makes the best engine oil? And what is this Amsoil I keep hearing about?

i wish amsoil would sell their product at wallmart so all of us could end this “debate with no end”, amsoil is better tham mobile 1(and the fully synthetic valvoline and the fully synthetic castrol etc. etc.), with one important exception, redline is better than them all, but expensive and hard to find
