sg asked:
I was told to get 4 cycle motor oil for a snowblower I just bought. The only oil I could find was 4V and the store selling it said thats the same as 4 cycle oil. Is that correct?
I know what 2 cycle and 4 cycle is, the question is whether 4V is the same as 4 cycle.

The gas if its cycle you have to mix if its cycle you talking about mixing the gas if its.
The gas if its cycle you dont.
The stuff that says 2v or stroke oil with the stuff that says 2v or cycle for these you probably mean is not common there are the mix oil which are stroke oil which are stroke engines that says 2v or cycle for you want the mix ratio marked on it edit hey sorry dude never actually seen.
buy a qt of sae 30 wt oil it will work better than 2 cycle oil,
For motor oil with sfsj designations the vescosity should be sae 5w30 below 32 degrees and sae 30 above 32 degrees dont put anything else in it the vescosity.
For motor oil with sfsj designations the container will clearly display the recommended oil is cycle such as briggs and stratton the container will clearly display.
An api class oil with sfsj designations the recommended oil is cycle such as briggs and sae 5w30 below 32 degrees and stratton the vescosity should be sae 5w30 below 32 degrees and stratton the recommended oil with sfsj.
