Can Diesle trucks run on cooking oil from resteraunts?

Scott0509 asked:

Do you have to do anything to the motor to make it run on cooking oil? Is it a good idea if u can get cooking oil from a resteraunt for free and run it in your truck?

Yes they can. Some require modification. Some do not.

Mythbusters did a great show about it.

It’s been proven many times, and there’s thousands of articles on it, on Google.

no you don’t have to do anything to your truck, run cooking oil through a filter before putting in your truck, then run 60 percent diesel 40 persent cooking oil. Don’t get caught

The nonfluid part of the used cooking oil normally as in biodiesel the nonfluid part of lye and methanol to very high pressures so your engine fuelair mixture selfignites when compressed to.
